Job title: MCC Planning Engineer
Job Purpose:
The MCC (Maintenance Control Center) Planning Engineer is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and oversight of both scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities. This role ensures the optimization of aircraft availability and maintenance efficiency through meticulous forecasting, resource management, and stakeholder coordination, in full compliance with regulatory standards and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the accomplishment of scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities for Line and Base Maintenance.
- Forecast, track, and control maintenance requirements in alignment with the approved Aircraft Maintenance Program.
- Prepare, issue, and control work packages and task cards for aircraft undergoing maintenance in a staggered and efficient manner to optimize workflow and aircraft downtime.
Work Package & Documentation Management
- Ensure the timely receipt, review, and closure of completed work packages following the accomplishment of maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Resource & Logistics Coordination
- Forecast and ensure the availability and pre-loading of all necessary tools, spares, consumables, and materials required for Line and Base maintenance activities.
- Provide accurate man-hour estimates to Line and Base Maintenance teams for all scheduled maintenance checks.
- Ensure optimum utilization of aircraft through effective planning, monitoring, and coordination with all internal and external stakeholders.
Compliance & Procedure Adherence
- Ensure all aircraft maintenance is performed in accordance with the approved Maintenance Program, and in compliance with policies and procedures defined in the CAME (Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition) and other applicable engineering manuals.
- Develop, review, and author procedures related to Production Planning and associated functional areas to ensure continuous improvement and standardization.
Stakeholder Coordination & Safety
Conduct and participate in mandatory meetings with internal and external stakeholders as required by CAME and engineering procedures.
Ensure that Safety Management System (SMS) principles are effectively incorporated, communicated, and followed across all planning and maintenance functional areas.
General Duties
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by superiors in line with organizational requirements.
Qualifications & Experience Essential
- Holder of or eligibility for an EASA Part-66 (or equivalent National Aviation Authority) Aircraft Maintenance License, or an aeronautical engineering degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance planning within an airline or MRO environment, with direct experience in an MCC or Production Planning role.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs (MPD, MRB), planning systems (e.g., AMOS, TRAX, SAP), and aviation regulations (EASA/FAA Part-145, Part-M).
- Proven experience in preparing work packages, managing technical records, and estimating man-hours for maintenance checks.
- Strong understanding of the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
Desirable
- Experience with both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft fleets.
- Certification or training in project management or production planning.
- Experience in a Tech Ops / MCC environment within a 24/7 operation.
